Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami welcomed the Budget as promising for the salaried class and termed it as a balanced one promising growth by 2030 and a house for all by 2022.

Meanwhile, PMK, the former ally of the BJP, also welcomed the Union Budget. PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss in a statement said that the Budget presented ahead of Lok Sabha polls had promised income tax rebate exemption up to Rs 5 lakh. The interim budget will benefit the farmers through assured income support and the total deduction for income tax had also been increased to Rs 50,000. Ramadoss also welcomed the new pension scheme for those in the unorganised sector. However, the Budget lacks schemes related to employment and development. He also noted that there is no direct benefit for those getting salary from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh as this slab invites 20 per cent tax. This tax component should be reduced to 10 per cent, Ramadoss urged.
