39 absent teachers issued charge memo in Vellore

After the JACTTO-GEO protest was called off, the district reported cent per cent attendance in elementary, middle, high and higher secondary schools.

However, Vellore CEO S Mars checked the attendance of teachers and found that 39 teachers did not turn up, despite extension of time to report for work until 10 am on Wednesday.

The district officials issued charge memos to the 39 teachers, under sec 17 (B) of the Tamil Nadu government servants service rules.

Sources said, the suspension of four other teachers, who were remanded during the first lot during the initial days of agitation, has not been revoked.
