Leaders pay floral tributes on Gandhi’s anniversary
Rich tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 72nd death anniversary in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, state Ministers garlanded the statue of the Father of the Nation and paild floral tributes to his portrait on the Marina beach front. Later, the Chief Minister administered the untouchability pledge to the staff members of the State Secretariat in which Panneerselvam and ministers participated.
Tributes paid at Puducherry
Floral Tributes were paid to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 71st death anniversary here on Wednesday.
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his cabinet colleagues, speaker V Vaithilingam, legislators and senior officials of the territorial administration were among others who garlanded the Gandhi statue on the Goubert Avenue here to mark the occasion.
Leaders and functionaries of the congress party led by PCC president and PWD minister A Namasivayam garlanded the statue on behalf of the congress party. A function in which floral tributes were paid to the leader was also held at the congress party office on Wednesday morning.
Patriotic songs were sung at the pedestal of the Gandhi statue and two minutes silence was observed to mark the occasion. Rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of the leader at the N R Congress party office here.
