Not to be left behind the police inspectors, private individuals and senior students who volunteered to teach children, Kalasapakkam MLA V Paneerselvam took the lead in taking classes in the schools in his constituency on Monday.
When he came to know that many of the elementary schools in his constituency were locked due to the teachers strike, the legislator started touring Kalasapakkam and Jamunamarathur panchayat unions.
When he arrived at Thaniyar village at the foot of the Jawadhu hills in his constituency, he found students sitting outside the locked school there. The MLA immediately opened the school and started taking classes for the students.Later, senior students, who arrived there, took over from the MLA in handling the classes for junior sections.
The situation was the same in most of the villages he visited. When he visited Pattaraikadu and Vidiyankottai tribal villages, there also he ordered opening of elementary schools closed due to teacher strike. He took classes in those schools too and left after ensuring the functioning of the schools.
