PM Modi arrives in Madurai
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Madurai to take part in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the AIIMS hospital today.

He was welcomed by governor Banwarilal Purohit at the Madurai International airport.
He was escorted to the venue of the even amid tight security by the Tamil Nadu police via road.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and many other ministers from the state and the centre are present at the venue for the event.
The AIIMS is being constructed at a cost Rs. 1264 crores.
Meanwhile MDMK leader Vaiko and his party members staged a black flag protest against the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party members were involved in a protest against at the Periyar Bus Terminus in Madurai.
