Woman kills daughter, jumps into well

According to police, Roja, wife of Arjunan, a construction labourer from a village near Thoppur, was living with her parents along with her four daughters and a son following some issues with him. 

On Monday morning, Roja had left the house along with her third daughter Jayalakshmi, 7 studying in Class 2 at a government school, claiming to buy milk from a shop. “She threw her daughter into a 60 feet deep well and jumped into it,” police said. As she did not return home even after a long time, the family members went on a search. They were shocked to find Roja and her daughter drowned in the well. 

The fire and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and retrieved their bodies, which were then sent for post mortem at Dharmapuri Government Hospital. 

The Bommidi police have registered a case and further inquiries are on.
