The bull named ‘Villain’ was owned by Mani, a milk vendor from GR Palayam. It had participated in the bull run event in nearby Munjurpattu village.

Villain, which was released with another bull from vadivasal, ran the entire barricaded stretch. However, suddenly he stopped, turned around and started walking towards the vadivasal direction. Meanwhile, another bull coming from that side collided with Villain. In the impact, it was tossed in the air and landed on its back after hitting a barricade. The crash was so severe that the right horn of Villain broke and it was also unable to get up even though by-standers poured water on it.

Its owner took it back to GR Palayam where it succumbed to injuries in the early hours on Friday without responding to treatment. Villagers paid a tearful farewell to the deceased bovine and special poojas were performed after the broken horn was tied back on its head with a piece of cloth. Later, it was buried in an open area in the village.
