Congress cadre outreach project roll-out on Jan 21
The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) will launch ‘Project Shakti’ on January 21, the pet project of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi, in a bid to strengthen party unity at the grass root level in the state.

TNCC president Su Thirunavukkarasar on Thursday said AICC’s Tamil Nadu in-charge Mukul Wasnik and Praveen Chakravarty, chairperson of the Congress’s data-analytics will be participating in the event to encourage the candidates to enroll in ‘Project Shakti.’
He said Congress senior leaders, MLAs and former union ministers will also participate in the launch event, which will be held at the Sathyamurthy Bhavan in Chennai at 10 am.
The Congress leader also appealed to the party cadres to enrol by sending an SMS to the prescribed numbers with their voter identity card number and the party will establish two-way communication with them.
Thirunavukkarasar also said that after registering themselves in ‘Project Shakti’ booth level party functionaries in Tamil Nadu can have direct communication with the senior party members to solve the local issues of the people immediately.
“It will also help the party in appointing district and taluk presidents by directly getting feedback from our workers,” he said adding “Similarly, the party cadres will also have the opportunity to recommend the chief minister’s name for a particular state, where Congress had won the polls.”
The TNCC leader claimed that so far about 53 lakh cadres have registered in ‘Project Shakti’ after it was launched in April 2018 by Rahul Gandhi.
“The project will be expanded in Tamil Nadu and it would be streamlined across the country soon,” he claimed and adding that it was important for the Congress to focus on strengthening the party at all levels and ‘Shakti’ project will help to do that.
