Tamilisai contradicts her remarks by asking CM to prove his innocence
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday made contradictory statements on the Kodanad deaths, in which Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s name surfaced.
Chennai
On Sunday morning, when Tamilisai addressed reporters, in Chennai airport, after returning from attending party meeting in New Delhi, she was asked about Palaniswami being named in Kodanad deaths. For that she replied that she was in New Delhi when the issue broke out and she did not have any idea on the issue.
“Anyone who is making accusations should have proofs before making such accusations as it would be difficult to revoke them if they were proved wrong,” said Tamilisai.
She also said that when allegations are levelled against people like Palaniswami, the charges need to be accompanied with proofs. “Just for the sake of sensation anyone can give statements but without knowing anything concrete on the issue it will not be right to the comment,” she said.
However, after participating in a Pongal function, in Chennai, Tamilisai said, “A charge has been placed on Palaniswami. In the current political scenario anyone can be accused but, in this case, there is no second thought that it is the duty of Palaniswami to prove his innocence.”
BJP will form mega alliance
Tamilisai further said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi cannot form a mega alliance and it is the BJP which is going to form the mega alliance. She also attacked DMK president MK Stalin for announcing Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate for 2019.
“Stalin has made a mistake in announcing Rahul as Prime Ministerial candidate. Since the announcement nothing went in favour of them,” added Tamilisai.
