Charred body of 45-yr-old farmer found in farm near Vandavasi

The deceased, Ponnusamy, was a native of Koodalur and resided in Arni town, police said. He was a graduate involved in farming, and was well-liked by the locals as he conducted classes for students after school hours. 

On Friday evening, he had left home informing his wife Rajeswari that he was going to the farm. At his farm, he met Venketesan, the lessee, and left. Later, Venketesan discovered Ponnusamy’s charred body in a corner of the field. Subsequently, he informed Thellar police. 

Since the body was burnt, police sought the help of Tiruvannamalai government medical college hospital, which sent a doctor to conduct post-mortem on the spot. A case was registered and further investigation is on.
