150 AR personnel screened at eye camp
Around 150 police personnel attached to the Armed Reserve (AR) unit underwent a eye checkup at an camp organised by the district police headquarters in Thoothukudi on Saturday.

Superintendent of Police Murali Rambha inaugurated the camp, in the presence of doctors from Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital.
After inaugurating the event, the SP said eye defects are not restricted to the elderly alone, as even youngsters nowadays face long and short vision problems.
“During the medical test conducted recently for those who got selected for the post of Sub-Inspector (Technical), it was found that some of them had vision problems. Hence, it is essential to diagnose any health-related issue at the earliest and get it cured. Since the police personnel work round-the-clock, it is essential for them to stay fit and healthy,” the SP said.
Doctors highlighted the importance of avoiding junk food and leading a healthy lifestyle. Sub-Inspectors of Police, Head Constables and their family members availed the service at the camp.
