‘Include Health secy, ex-CS as counter plaints’
The lawyer of the Justice A Arumughasamy Inquiry Commission Muhammad Jafarullah Khan has moved to include Health Secretary Dr Radhakrishnan and former Chief Secretary Rama Mohana Rao as counter complainants due to their close involvement in the treatment of former CM J Jayalalithaa at Apollo Hospitals.
Chennai
Health Secretary Radhakrishnan has appeared before the Commission twice and is set to appear for cross-examination. Radhakrishnan was instrumental in drafting the health bulletin as per the affidavit of Apollo Hospitals. He was also involved in the decision behind not taking Jayalalithaa abroad for treatment.
Rama Mohana Rao had been sent summons after discrepancies in his account such as the time Jayalalithaa had waved to him during his visit to the hospital which was refuted by other witnesses. He also said that he had written seeking inputs on shifting Jayalalithaa abroad, but the office of the Chief Minister denied receiving such a letter.
As a result, the Commission wishes to include the names of both the individuals. The Commission is expected to submit the final report on February 24.
