Addressing newspersons here, Moily said: “Everyone has misunderstood their comments. They have said it was not the appropriate time to declare the Prime Ministerial candidate,” adding that they did not rule out Rahul Gandhi assuming the post if the Congress comes to power at the Centre.

He claimed that the Opposition parties are united, and the platform will be used to form a secular front for the upcoming general elections.

On the Rafale deal issue, Moily said that if the Congress comes to power, the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will be involved as a partner in the defense deal. “If we come to power, we will not scrape the deal either,” he said, adding that the Rafale jet is good.

Ruling out chancesof his party moving the Supreme court in the issue, Moily said theCongress has always asserted that only a joint parliamentary committee will be competent to go into the Rafale deal.
