Claiming that assistance has not reached the people affected by cyclone Gaja, Stalin, in a statement, said, “The CM and his ministers, who visited New Delhi regularly to escape from the cases filed against them, should mount pressure on the Centre to get necessary funds for cyclone relief.”
Stalin also urged the ruling AIADMK to take steps to waive the loans of farmers in the cyclone-hit districts. Later, in another statement, Stalin welcomed the Madras High Court order which imposed a blanket ban on erecting hoardings for political rallies and advised his party cadre to abide by it. Advising them to avoid hoardings in toto, Stalin said that they would not only be abiding by law, but it would also benefit the people.
