Anti-people policies cause BJP electoral defeats: AIADMK
The ruling AIADMK on Wednesday blamed the anti-people policies pursued by the BJP for the saffron party’s loss in the assembly elections held in five states.
Chennai
Party mouthpiece Namadhu Amma carried a poem criticising the BJP for the loss.
In the election results announced for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram on Tuesday, the BJP had lost in all the states and relinquished power in the first three.
Appreciating the Congress for emerging victorious, the poem said: “The win has given the Congress a huge boost. As far as Mizoram and Telangana are considered, the results have proved the importance of regional parties in deciding the government at the Centre.”
Slating the BJP for its anti-people policies, the poem recalled some of the policies implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Government.
“The chaos due to demonetisation, implementation of GST in a hasty manner, a steep hike in fuel price despite the reduction of crude oil price in the global market and continuous downfall of rupee has caused mental agony to the people which got reflected through the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs),” the poem said.
The poem, written under the pen name Chithraguptan, also warned the BJP that if its lacklustre attitude continues, the party might face the same situation in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled next year.
“BJP leaders should not try to escape by saying that the assembly elections does not decide the fate of the general elections.
They should work towards winning the polls by accepting the verdict of people in these five states,” the poem added.
