As has become the norm with his recent public appearances, there was no information given about his political campaign or launch, though word persists that his birthday may yield a public announcement.
Rajinikanth advised all his fans to cut the word ‘extra’ in their lives from all aspects: sleeping, eating, scolding, praising, and so on. “This will definitely help you in life, if you do everything appropriately,” he said, at the Petta audio launch on Sunday evening. He also added that practising yoga regularly would be beneficial for the mind, body and heart.
Held at Sri Sairam Engineering College, the Superstar pointed out that relief activities for Cyclone Gala was not the government’s responsibility alone. “It is yours too. We have been working with the Rajini Makkal Mandram to ensure as much help as possible. The likes of Sun TV and even Sairam College have donated generously to the cause.”
Rajinikanth alluded to his friendship with Kalanithi Maran as well, that started when the latter produced Endhiran in 2010, and has come full circle now with Petta. He was also full of praise for director Karthik Subbaraj and the rest of the cast/ crew, singling out Vijay Sethupathi for special praise, terming him a ‘maha nadigan’. “I’ve never met someone like him, he always thinks in reverse and is a fantastic human being. I feel like I speak to a psychiatrist whenever I converse with him,” he laughed.
Rajinikanth also explained that he couldn’t shoot the movie in Tamil Nadu due to too much love’ from fans, and hence had to travel to hill stations like Dehradun and Mussoorie.
