Specifically seeking action against the officer who had filed the FIR, covering up the EC complaint, Stalin also urged the commission to order departmental action against its staff involved in it. “People will have faith in democratically held elections and the commission which conducts it only if the action is initiated against people involved in the unpardonable crime,” said the LoP, condemning Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his government for misleading the EC and Madras High Court.
Stalin drew the EC’s attention, a day after it came to light that a petitioner named PM Narasimhan had successfully obtained an order from a single judge of HC, quashing the FIR of Abhiramapuram police in the “cash for vote” case.
