Labrador gets sweet memories as family celebrates fourth birthday with gusto

The four-year-old Labrador belongs to K Suguna, a housewife, who resides at Pudupet in the town. On Tuesday, when their dog named Tommy turned four, the family celebrated it as they would do for their children.

They ordered a 3 kg cake with ‘happy birthday Tommy inscribed on it. The family also purchased 3 kg sweets and apples. They also decorated the wall near which the celebration took place.

The birthday celebrations started with Suguna cutting the cake and giving a small piece to Tommy, after which the cake was distributed to neighbours and friends. The sweets were also given to them.

“We did not invite people home as Tommy might become ferocious on seeing strangers in the house,” Suguna told DT Next. “We have been celebrating his special day every year,” she added. However, it is certainly a moot question on whether Tommy understands as to why he is being showered with love and affection by all every December 4.
