2 AMMK men caught with counterfeit notes
Two cadre of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) were arrested on Sunday for attempting to circulate photocopies of Rs 2000 notes.

Saddam Hussein (28), youth wing secretary of the AMMK town in Jolarpet, had purchased a pack of cigarettes from a petty shop at Alangkuppam near Ambur and gave a Rs 2,000 note for it.
The shopkeeper, who grew suspicious, checked the note and found it to be a photocopy.
Following this, Saddam was caught by the shopkeeper and the locals, who later handed over his to the police. When cops checked him, they seized another 11 photocopied notes of Rs 2,000 from his possession.
Saddam Hussein told the police that the notes were given to him by Alexander (35), town deputy secretary of AMMK. He said that Alexander promised him to pay 10% commission, if he passed on the notes to the public.
Based on leads given by Saddam, cops arrested Alexander and he had so far circulated photocopied notes of Rs 2,000 with a face value of Rs 4,00,000 in different local shandies.
Police seized the photocopier machine used for the purpose and registered a case against the duo.
