Tiruvannamalai Collector responds to daughter’s heartfelt video, gifts goats to dad

Kandasamy received a WhatsApp video message recently from Rubika (13), daughter of Sellaperumal, in which she stated that her father could not afford a single goat of his own and grazed those belonging to another person from Chennai. She added that they live in a ramshackle hut on a farm where her mother Salsa was a coolie. She ended the message saying her father’s dearest wish was to own a goat.

Kandasamy later asked his officials to verify the message and ordered four goats to be purchased with Rs 30,000 from Collector’s discretionary fund. He personally handed over the goats to the family on Wednesday and also ordered construction of a Rs 2.10 lakh solar powered green house for them.
