Gang robs pharmacist of Rs 9.5 lakh
A four-member gang waylaid a pharmacist of Rs 9.5 lakh after attacking him in Tirupur district, on Sunday night.

According to police, a four-member gang, whose identities are yet to be revealed, waylaid Kesavan (28), running a pharmacy at Kaniyapoondi.
Police added that he was returning home in a two-wheeler, late Sunday night. He had carried the amount earned through the day’s sale from his pharmacy. While nearing Bharathipuram, the members of the gang intercepted him and snatched the cash after assaulting him.
While the gang members escaped from the spot, Kesavan was left with serious injuries on his head and legs. On hearing him cry for help, the local public took him to a hospital. Based on a complaint, the Mangalam police registered a case and are scanning the images recorded in CCTV fixed in the locality to know the identity of the culprits. Further inquiries are on.
