Pondy couple murder: Temporary driver held
The police have cracked the double murder case of former minister’s kin with the arrest of two persons, incudling the temporary driver of the family, at Anna Nagar here on Wednesday. It may be noted that Balakrishnan (72) and his wife Hemalatha, were murdered after their house was burgled by miscreants.

A special team of Orleanpet police after investigations, picked up the regular driver Jayakumar of Theni and grilled him.
Jayakumar in his absence used to send temporary drivers to Balakrishnan.Based on the clues given by him police hunted for Mohammed Kasim of Kottakuppam.
However, when the police contacted the mobile number of Mohammed Kasim, it was switched off.
Later, they managed to catch him. During inquiry, he told the cops that he along with his friend Mohammed Illiyas killed the duo and burgled the house.
After detailed interrogation with Mohammed Kasim, police recovered two cell phones, one motor cycle and all the stolen properties including ornaments and cash and foreign currencies.
