Actor Rajinikanth, expected to foray into politics, said on Monday that the implementation of the demonetisation exercise by the Centre was flawed.
Chennai
The superstar, when asked about his view on the impact of demonetisation vis-a-vis its second anniversary, told the media that “the implementation was flawed. It is a matter that should be discussed in detail”.
Asked if the BJP was such a ‘dangerous’ (electorally) party that warranted formation of a mega national alliance against it, he said “they (opposition parties) feel that way, then it should be definitely like that”. On the rising incidence of rape and murder of girls in Tamil Nadu, he said tougher laws and stricter implementation was the way out.
‘No idea about Rajiv case convicts’ release’
Rajinikanth pleaded ignorance when asked about the release of the seven life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, while addressing the press before his departure from the Chennai Airport on Monday. Asked about his opinion on the issue, Rajinikanth said he was not aware of the developments on the issue, to everyone’s surprise. The actor has since then, drawn ire on Twitter, leading to the term ‘Rajinikku theriyadhu’ (Rajinikanth doesn’t know) being coined after the video of his press meet went viral.
