Muthuramalinga Thevar life history to be included in class-7 school books
Tamil Nadu government told in the Madurai High Court that the life history of Pasumpon Muthuramlinga Thevar will be included in the 7th standard state board syllabus, in the next academic year.

After the life history of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar was removed from the state board syllabus, one Sangili, belonging to Usilampatti, filed a petition in the Madurai High Court seeking the inclusion of Thevar life history in school syllabus.
Earlier the state board syllabus had had the life history of Thevar in order to keep the younger generation informed about his contribution to the nation, but it was removed from the syllabus last year. This was taken to the notice of Tamil Nadu government but there was no response from the government regarding this exclusion.
This petition came before the bench comprised of Justice Sasidaran and Adhikesavalu, when Tamil Nadu government informed the bench that the life history of Muthuramlainga Thevar will be included in the school syllabus next academic year itself.
Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar along with Nethaji Subhase Chandra Bose took part in India's freedom movement and was thrown into prison for the same. Indeed, he served as a member of parliament. He gave away all his properties in to lift the oppressed people from poverty. To commemorate his service to India, Muthuramalinga Thevar birth anniversary is celebrated by the Tamil Nadu government every year.
