    RPF hands over recovered cash, jewels to man

    The Thanjavur railway protection force handed over a bag containing Rs 20,000 and 15 sovereign jewels to the person who lost it in the train, on Friday.

    According to police, Vikram Balaji (35) of Manamelkudi in Pudukkottai district, working in an IT firm, in Chennai, was travelling to Chennai by Cholan express along with his parents.

    On Thursday, they boarded the train with the luggage at Thanjavur railway station. When the train was nearing Papanasam, Vikram noticed that he had missed his laptop bag, in which, he had cash, jewels and mobile phones. Soon, he contacted the railway help number and passed on the information.

    Based on the information, the RPF inspector Manoharan, registered a case and began the search for the bag. They found it from the place where Vikaram left.

    Subsequently, the inspector recovered the bag and later handed over it to Vikram.
