Premalatha slams Stalin for not toppling government
The newly elected DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth, in her maiden speech after getting the party post, did not spare anyone. The ruling parties at the state and Centre and the opposition party in the state DMK came under heavy attack from her for the state of affairs.

“While the ruling party in the state is full of scams and corruption, we have an opposition leader who is tearing his shirt in the Assembly and posing for media. Because of these corrupt politicians Tamil Nadu had not seen any development in the recent years,” said Premalatha.
Since her appointment as treasurer, Premalatha is on a mission mode to rebuild the party, which had lost track in the last two elections, where the party could not get even a single seat. Premalatha had convened the meetings with all the wings in the party such as farmers wing, lawyers wing, women’s wing, students wing, weavers wing and so on, and had asked them to gear up for the upcoming Parliamentary elections, in 2019.
Premalatha, who is determined to make a strong comeback, attacked the state government for being one-sided in the disqualification of 18 MLAs. “The 11 MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam went in favour of no-confidence motion moved by the DMK in the Assembly and no action was taken against them but the 18 MLAs were disqualified for petitioning Governor Banwarilal Purohit to remove Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami,” she questioned.
She also criticised Leader of Opposition Stalin. “Stalin who has 98 MLAs has failed to discharge his duties as a Leader of Opposition. There is still a doubt among people of Tamil Nadu that why is he permitting the state government to continue,” asked Premalatha.
She also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for destroying the livelihood of traders. “After demonetisation and GST, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were completely routed in the country and now at the time of elections Modi has announced that MSMEs can avail loan to the tune of Rs 1 crore in just one hour,” she charged.
