North East monsoon to intensify between November 6 and 8
The Northeast monsoon is likely to intensify between November 6 and 8 due to the low pressure that has developed over South Bay of Bengal.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over South Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain is also likely to occur at isolated places over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on November 7 and 8.
“A low pressure is likely to develop over central parts of south Bay of Bengal around November 6. And it is set to move towards West-Northwest wards across Sri Lanka and Comorin area between November 6 and 8. This weather system will further strengthen the Northeast monsoon rain in the same period,” said the Director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, S Balachandran.
An advisory was issued to the fishermen warning them not to venture into the sea due to rough sea from November 6. Further, the weathermen urged fishermen in the deep seas over Southwest Bay of Bengal and Comorin area to return to the coast before Tuesday (November 6). “The wind with a speed of 50 kmph is likely to blow over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean on November 6 and 7 and over Gulf of of Mannar and Comorin area on November 7 and 8,” said the Director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, S Balachandran.
While the sky condition is likely to be cloudy in the city for the next 48 hours. The maximum temperature will be around 32 Degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 25 Degree Celsius.
In the past 24 hours, Papanasam in Tirunelveli district recorded 15 cm rainfall. While the places Manimutharu and Coonoor each recorded 6 cm of rainfall.
