After taking part in the ‘Swastha Bharat Yatra’, a national campaign organised to sensitise people about eating safe and nutritious food for becoming healthy, the minister said, formalities such as process for land allotment and soil test were over, ahead of the construction the hospital. Speaking to the media, the minister said, “Works required for establishing the hospital are in progress. A project report on planning and estimated cost of Rs 1,264 crore has been prepared.”
Earlier, Vijaya Baskar along with Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, RB Udhaya Kumar, flagged off a bicycle awareness rally.
The cyclathon, which commenced in Tiruvananthapuram on the occasion of World Food Day on October 16, will end in the national capital on October 27.
Further, Vijaya Baskar said that dengue is under control in the State and its prevalence is lower compared to last year. “Fever cases are on the rise for the past one week. But, people need not panic, since medicines are adequately available in all government hospitals and primary health centres. It’s a similar scenario with swine flu too,” Vijaya Baskar added.
He urged patients with fever to consult doctors and warned them not to take self-medication.
