4-year-old run over by doctor’s car in Pudukkottai
A four-year-old boy was killed after a doctor’s car ran over him at Keeranur in Pudukkottai district on Saturday.

Sources said S Sridhar was playing under a tree near the Viralimalai-Keeranur road, when a car hit him. Sridhar was killed on the spot. On receiving information, the Viralimalai police rushed to the spot and held investigation.
The police said the car was driven by Dr Yasar Arafat (34), who was working as a medical officer at Avoor Primary Health Centre. Police said Arafat was driving at a high speed as he was in a hurry to attend a government function. Arafat has been arrested.
