Upset over death of elder son, couple ends lives after killing kid

According to police, Thiruvengadam (42) a former employee of a private firm and the ward secretary of AIADMK in Ammanankuppam, was married to Parimala (32) and the couple had two sons, Nikesh (7) and Nikhil (3).

Due to ill health, Nikesh died three months ago following which the family was in a depressed mood. On Thursday, the birthday of Nikesh, the family cut a cake and distributed it to neighbours. However, both Tiruvengadam and Parimala were drowned in the memories of Nikesh and looked sad in the night.

As the couple and their son did not come out for a long time on Friday morning, neighbours grew suspicious. They entered the house by breaking the door and were shocked to find all the three – Thriuvengadam, Parimala and Nikhil – hanging dead. 

On information, Gudiyattam town police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Gudiyattam government hospital for post mortem. Police suspect that the couple would have hung Nikesh first and then they also would have followed suit. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
