TN HR and CE Pathukappu Peravai launched

The peravai said that the department was playing a vital role in maintaining harmony among various sects of Hinduism and urged the government to prevent the intrusion of a few outfits, which were demanding the abolition of the department.

Former minister KN Nehru, the special guest at the launch, said that the Hindu temples were in bad shape and it was during the regime of Dravidian parties the shrines got a facelift. He also pointed that consecration of many temples was performed during the Dravidian rule through the HR and CE department.

Meanwhile, the retired Joint Commissioner of HR and CE department S Jayaraman said that it was the HR&CE department that upheld the interests of various sects within the religion and thereby prevented conflicts among them.
