AIADMK will face LS polls alone, reiterates Thambidurai
Reiterating his earlier stand, Lok Sabha deputy Speaker M Thambidurai on Friday stressed that the AIADMK has planned to face the upcoming parliamentary election in all the 40 seats, including the one in Puducherry, on its own and will definitely win in all the segments.

Thambidurai claimed that soon after the implementation of the GST, the State government lost revenue. He appealed to the Centre to control the price of petrol and diesel and reduce at least Rs 10 per litre which would be beneficial to the common man.
Stating that the AIADMK is a bright lamp, the deputy LS speaker said no one can conspire against the party. As late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said, the AIADMK will continue to hold the office and serve the people for over 100 years.
“We do not bother about any number of groups and those who attempt to damage the party,” Thambidurai said.
Meanwhile, he said that the AIADMK will face the upcoming Lok Sabha polls alone and field candidates in all 40 segments, including the one in Puducherry, and certainly win all seats, he said. Transport Minister MR Vijayabaskar was also present.
Ex-Minister dares ruling party to retain deposit
Former transport minister V Senthil Balaji on Friday dared Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai to retain the deposit in all 40 LS constituencies and added that he would quit his political career if the AIADMK does so.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a protest, Senthil Balaji said Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami was working for the Aravakurichi segment and gave a series of promises to the people but nothing has been fulfilled. He charged that Thambidurai stayed in Chennai on all 70 days of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s hospitalisation. “He was there to get the CM’s seat but that did not materialise,” said Senthil Balaji.
He asked Thambidurai to list the developmental works he had executed in the district for the past 10 years. “There will be nothing of note as he has done nothing to the people who voted for him,” Senthil Balaji said.
Responding to the claim of Thambidurai on the AIADMK going it alone in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and its claim of winning in all 40 seats, Senthil Balaji asked to if the AIADMK would secure at least the deposit in all the 40 segments. “If the AIADMK secures deposit in all the 40 seats, I will quit from politics,” Senthil Balaji said.
