Mock polls at Vellore to test EVMs
As part of the efforts to ensure smooth functioning of control units and VVPATs (Voter Verified Paper Trail), a two-day mock poll was organised at the Vellore Collector’s office from Wednesday.

The exercise was conducted in the presence of Vellore DRO J Parthiban, due to the absence of Collector SA Raman, and representatives of recognised political parties.
Officials said that the exercise would continue till Thursday to ensure that all machines were poll ready for the 2019 general elections. Officials present included Deputy Collector (Stamps) K Dinakaran and huzur sirashtidhar (office manager) M Murali.
