Teenager kills tipsy dad for attacking mom

According to police, Vinoban (48), a farmer of Kothakudi Colony near Kumbakonam, used to consume alcohol every day and quarrel with his wife Kasthuri (42). 

On Monday too, Vinoban reached home in an inebriated condition and picked up an altercation with Kasthuri. During the argument, the farmer started assaulting his wife. On seeing Vinoban assaulting Kasthuri, their 17-year-old elder son, who had dropped out from school, working as an agriculture coolie, confronted his father. 

But Vinoban did not relent and continued to assault Kasthuri. Angered by this, the 17-year-old grabbed a wooden log and attacked Vinoban, in which he sustained severe injury to the head and collapsed on the spot.  On seeing Vinoban lying motionless, the youth escaped from the spot. On information, Swamimalai police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. A case has been registered against the youth and a search has been launched to nab him.
