Stalin seeks white paper on previous investors’ meet
Ahead of the upcoming Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) in Tamil Nadu in January next year, DMK president and Opposition leader MK Stalin on Friday sought a white paper on the investment details in the previous meet, which was held when J Jayalalithaa was the Chief Minister.

“It was informed during the previous GIM that a total of 98 agreements were signed with an investment to the tune of Rs 2.42 lakh crore. However, there was no proper explanation even during the Assembly session with regard to the meet,” the DMK leader claimed.
Stalin said he was surprised to note that the government is claiming that the State will get Rs 20,000 crore from Gujarat alone during the second GIM.
“The State received only Rs 5,620 crore during the previous investors’ meet against the government’s claim of Rs 2.42 lakh crore,” he said and wondered how the second investor’s meet will attract investors to the State.
Claiming that the economic growth of the State has declined by 0.86 per cent, Stalin said the government should explain the financial situation to the public before conducting the investors’ meet.
