Driver ends life fearing police action
A van driver committed suicide fearing to face the police who asked him to appear with his driving licence for inquiry in connection with an accident case, on Thursday night.

Police said that Palani (35) of Sainathapuram, in Vellore took devotees in his goods vehicle to a place of worship,at Chetpet in Tiruvannamalai district a couple of days ago.Â
While returning, Palani lost control of the van and it overturned near Kannamangalam. Fifteen of the devotees suffered injuries in the accident.
Kannamangalam police registered a case and asked Palani come with his driving licence. But he had reportedly missed it somewhere. So, he went to the RTO office at Sathuvachary and informed his missing licence. However, fearing police action he committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday night.
