Man ends life after killing 2 daughters

Police said that Venketesan (38), a tailor was living with his wife, Kamala (32) and two daughters, Mekala (9) and Divyakala (7), studying in Class 4 and Class 2 respectively, onEaswarankoilStreet in Vrinjipuram.

The couple used to fight over family expenses frequently. As Venketesan’s earning was not enough to make both ends meet, Kamala shared the burden by selling vegetables at the local market. But, Venketesan objected to this and asked his wife to stay at home. This led tofrequent quarrel between the couple.

On Monday, after Kamala left to the local market as usual, Venketesan strangled both his daughters and then committed suicide by hanging himself in the house.

Kamala, who returned home in the evening,was shocked to see the bodies of her husband and two daughters. On information, Virinjipuram police reached the house, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem to Vellore Government Medical College Hospital. A case has been registered a case and investigations are on.
