Kamal ropes in Trump’s campaign strategist to train MNM functionaries

This is for the first time that any political party in Tamil Nadu has approached a renowned political strategist.

Iragavarapu, who was in Coimbatore on Wednesday, held his first lesson with MNM cadre at an in-house meeting on ways to win over the confidence of people, in turn, increasing the winning margins of their party.

“He addressed MNM’s district level office bearers on how to face elections,” Haasan said after the training workshop. Party office-bearers who attended the workshop said it was a useful session. “Avinash said that a leader is the face of the party. He asked us to have confidence in him and follow his footsteps to become victorious,” said a party functionary.

Iragavarapu started his campaign stint in 2013 with the YSR Congress Party after quitting his job at HCL and then went on to work for Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign. He is now involved with various political parties across the world. Iragavarapu belongs to Rajamundry in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He did his MBA from IIM Lucknow. Later, speaking at an interactive session with students, Haasan extolled students to take the political plunge to bring the change they want. “A few colleges have banned politics in colleges. When students can study politics, why can’t they speak about it?,” he said.

The actor further said, “I should have entered politics at your (students) age and apologise for not doing so. I insist that you all take an early plunge into politics to save TN from further exploitation.”
