“HR&CE officials are subjected to continuous abuse by Raja and people like him. HR&CE Minister Sevur Ramachandran should immediately release a white paper on the continuous abuse faced by the employees,” NL Sridharan, president, Federation of All HR&CE Employees Associations, told DT Next.

H Raja, who was recently booked for his alleged derogatory comments on the judiciary and police, allegedly abused the HR&CE employees and their family members at a public meeting at Vedasandur in Dindigul district on Monday. Condemning the comments of H Raja, the employees staged a walkout from the HR&CE Head Office in Nungambakkam.

In Tiruchy, the employees converged in front of the Srirangam Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple and raised slogans. They demanded the arrest of H Raja and his detention under the Goondas Act as he was disturbing public peace and made the derogatory remarks against the womenfolk of their families. In Thanjavur, the staff of the office of the Joint Commissioner of the department came out of the office in the afternoon and locked the office. They raised slogans demanding arrest of the BJP leader. Protests were also held in Kumbakonam, Pudukkottai, Karur, Perambalur, Nagapattinam and Ariyalur.
