Murals of kings unveiled at OTA alumni event
Murals of Maratha warrior Chatrapati Shivaji and Sikh king Maharaja Ranjith Singh were unveiled by Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kanal, Commandant, Officers Training Academy, at the Gaur Indoor Training Complex of the facility here on the concluding day of the Alumni Golden and Silver Jubilee meet on Sunday.

Short Service Course SS-04 is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, while Short Service Course SS-55 and Women Special Entry Scheme Course WSES-01 are celebrating their Silver Jubilee.
The Academy has two training battalions — Shivaji Battalion and Ranjit Singh Battalion. The murals seek to be a source of motivation for the cadets, according to an official release.
A silver embellished twin Irony Tusk Trophy was also presented to the Officers Training Academy by SSC-56 & WSES-02 courses which are also part of the Silver Jubilee event.Â
The trophy commemorates the supreme sacrifice of four bravehearts from their course for the nation. The martyrs include Major PP Acharya, Maha Vir Chakra (Posthumous) for his heroic act in the Kargil conflict.
A large number of officers and their families were present during the function.
SS-12 and SS-05 had presented statues of Major Ramaswamy Parameshwaran, Param Vir Chakra, and Field Marshal KM Cariappa to the Academy respectively in the recent past.
