Southern Railway updates MPs on status of projects

Madurai Divisional Railway Managers of Principal Heads of Departments and divisions attended the meeting. The General Manager, while welcoming the dignitaries, highlighted several important works that were completed, works earmarked for completion and those proposed in the field of improving passenger amenities.

During the schedule, the MPs demanded additional train services and stoppages as well. Responding to their demands, the General Manager said their demands and suggestions would be given due consideration. 

Proposals that are beyond the powers of zone would be forwarded to the Railway Board, he said in a statement. Thirteen MPs, including an MP from Kerala, took part in the meeting.
