DMK party members meet for the first time after MK Stalin's appointment as chief

After MK Stalin was appointed as DMK's chief, the party members including MLAs and MPs have met for the first time on Saturday at Anna Arivalayam.

As DMK has expressed its support for Congress' protest against the rising petrol, diesel prices, it is expected that the top members of the party will decide on the party's contribution to the Bandh.

The Income Tax raid for Gutkha scam and the upcoming assembly election are the other issues that are likely to be discussed in the meeting.

The party's General Council had on August 28 appointed MK Stalin as DMK's president. The elevation was necessitated by the demise of M Karunanidhi who breathed his last after prolonged illness on August 7.
