MDMK plans grand meeting for Anna anniversary
Leaders from various national parties have been invited to a meeting to be organised by the MDMK at Erode on September 15, to celebrate the birth anniversary of DMK founder and former chief minister CN Annadurai.

Speaking to media persons in Tiruchy, MDMK leader Vaiko said that his party has invited leaders like former J&K chief minister Farooq Abdullah, former CM of Maharashtra Sharad Pawar, former union finance minister Yashwant Sinha, besides other leaders from Tamil Nadu.
Stating that people who speak out against Hindutva are being murdered, Vaiko expressed concerns about Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan’s comment on Kalaignar’s memorial meeting.Â
Radhakrishnan had earlier claimed that the meeting turned out to be a forum for politics.Â
Vaiko also sought protection for VCK general secretary Ravikumar as the latter has been receiving threat calls. and the state government should do the needful, he said.
The MDMK leader also said his party has established a special wing to aid in relief efforts during natural calamities.Â
Over 400 party members from across the State are members of the wing.
