Mother, son kill self in Coimbatore

The deceased were identified as Manohari (75) and her unmarried son Sathish (44), who worked as a milk and curd-supplying agent at a private firm, said police. 

Finding the doors of their house locked for a long time, the neighbours broke inside and found the two lying dead. On information, Vadavalli police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for post mortem. A suicide note recovered by the police revealed that the duo took the extreme step as they couldn’t settle money for the milk company as many customers had pending dues.

In another incident, Punitha (28), wife of Gilbert (35) from Kamatchi Amman Temple Street in Tirupur, consumed poison after giving the same to her two daughters, Evelin (7) and Evin (2), on Tuesday. The couple reportedly had a heated quarrel over some domestic issues, following which, Gilbert had left the house and Punita took the extreme step.

Thereafter, she called Gilbert and informed him about the incident. Subsequently, Gilbert rushed back and took them to a private hospital. Further investigation is on.
