Like dad, Stalin writes letter to cadre with unity message
DMK president MK Stalin on Wednesday said his party would be in the forefront in bringing together democratic forces and fighting the undeclared war waged against States by the Central government.

Writing in the party organ Murasoli, Stalin said, “Ideologically like-minded forces (read as parties) have joined us. Whoever attempts to destabilize it and create confusion in it, will not succeed in their attempts. We are committed in our journey. Let us travel together and defeat the enemies of our ethnicity. Let us win the battle of ballots and dedicate it to our leader Karunanidhi.”
Reiterating that secularism, social justice, rationalism and equality were the fundamentals the DMK was built on, Stalin said the party aims to defeat the “communal” BJP regime and the AIADMK government in TN.
“Election is the democratic battle field in which the two government should be defeated. The State could go for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously. Whether it is simultaneous or separate election, it should be the target of democratic DMK to defeat both anti-people governments,” Stalin said.
Meanwhile, hitting out at the Centre for arresting five activists across the country, Stalin tweeted, “The brazen attempt by the Union Govt to imprison its critics reflects an authoritarian mindset that disregards civil rights. The space for dissent is essential to every democracy. I urge the Govt to drop all such unconstitutional actions immediately. #DefendDissent.”
