Youth held for bid to molest 7-year-old girl

A youth who attempted to sexually molest a child, near Natrampalli, on Tuesday was caught in the act and handed over to the police.

The police said Vignesh (22), a labourer, enticed a 7-year-old girl and tried to molest her at Pudupet Pakkiri Madam village, near Natrampalli.

They said villagers rushed in when the frightened girl screamed in fear. They caught him and gave him a thrashing, sources said.

They then handed him over to the police who registered a case under the POCSO Act.
