DMK known for graft: Thambidurai
Reacting to the complaint filed by DMK against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami over corruption charges, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai on Saturday slammed the principal opposition party, which he said was known for its corruption to the core.

Speaking to media persons in Karur, Thambidurai said the AIADMK would face the case legally.
“It is customary for the opposition parties to level charges against the ruling party. One such case has been filed against the Chief Minister by DMK MP RS Bharathi,” he said.
“If he has proof for the charges, he can submit it in the court and the party will face it legally,” Thambidurai said.
Charging the DMK with several corruption cases, he said, “The party is known for its scientific corruption and the people have understood it.”
Meanwhile, Thambidurai ruled out the immediate possibility of simultaneous elections in the State. “Lok Sabha polls would be held in Tamil Nadu next year. Simultaneous elections would be possible only in 2024,” he said, adding that the allegations of Kerala government that Tamil Nadu was responsible for the floods was a political tactic.
