Rajini contributes Rs 15 lakh, Director Shankar Rs 10 lakh
Superstar Rajinikanth pledged Rs 15 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund in aid for the people affected by the flooding across Kerala.

Rajinikanth is among the many stars of Kollywood who extended their support for the people of Kerala who have been affected by an unprecedented flood that has caused havoc across the state and the loss of over 350 lives so far. The 67-year-old, who is currently in Chennai, is shooting for his next film with Karthik Subbaraj. Meanwhile, plans to launch his upcoming party are being deliberated upon with Pongal 2019 being the tentative date.
Rajinikanth’s fan clubs have also been part of relief efforts with posts on social media showing relief materials being gathered by a Facebook page called Rajini Biggest Superstar of India (RBSI).
Director Shankar contributed Rs 10 lakh for the flood victims in the neighbouring state.
Others who have contributed to the cause include fellow actor-politician Kamal Haasan and other actors such as Karthi, Arulnidhi, Siddharth, etc, who have voiced their support and called on more contributions to help the affected rebuild their lives and for immediate relief efforts.
