Speaking to media in Salem on Sunday, the PMK leader said that the central investigative agency should take over the probe into this over Rs 100 crore scam. He was participating in a general body meeting of the party members from Salem and Dharmapuri districts.

“Our party is preparing a report on the Anna University scam for submission to the Governor,” he said.

Joining the issue with other political parties, the PMK leader also wanted ballot box system to be introduced for the parliamentary polls.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s statement that Tamil Nadu is implementing a lot of developmental projects, the PMK leader, however, said that the state has been witnessing a setback in all departments.

“The state should have received an investment of Rs 25 crore in the automobile sector. But the manufacturing firms moved over to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to corruption here,” he said and asked,“ Will the CM conduct a public voting to know if development projects or corruption was more in the present government?”

Further, Ramadoss said 50,000 micro and small scale industries have shut due to the GST and 80 lakh people have registered for jobs in employment offices, while 10 lakh government jobs remain vacant.

Pointing out that the state is delaying local body polls fearing a loss; the PMK leader said TN hasn’t received Rs 3,558 crore from the Union government in the absence of a local body. He also said that his party will decide on alliance for parliamentary polls by convening its general body.

Vowing to continue the party’s protest against the Salem-Chennai Expressway Project, Ramadoss said the Mettur dam should be desilted to increase its holding capacity.  “Of its total capacity of 94 tmc, it now holds just 65 tmc of water due to the accumulation of silt in the water body. About 15 tmc of water also drains waste into the sea,” he said.
