Man kills wife, succumbs to suicide attempt
A construction worker, who murdered his wife and attempted to commit suicide after neighbours found her body inside the house, succumbed at the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital on Wednesday.

Sridhar (38) of Asanambut near Odugathur married Ilavarasi (28) 10 years ago and had two children.Â
Police said that the couple used to quarrel often. After a fight on Monday, Sridhar murdered her by repeatedly slashing her neck with a knife when she was asleep. He then locked her body in a room and sent his children to school.
However, neighbours found the body and informed Veppankuppam police. Sridhar succumbed to injuries on Wednesday morning.
